Challenges
Upon inheriting the website, the challenges were immediately evident. The initial structure and design, set up by the previous designer, was far from optimal. Loading times dragged on, thanks largely to inefficient coding and non-optimized images. However, the most glaring issue was the website’s performance on mobile devices. In a world where mobile access dominates, our site’s layout was in disarray on smaller screens, making navigation a nightmare. The legibility was poor, and usability was nearly non-existent. It was clear that this wasn’t just a minor update; it was a comprehensive overhaul that the site desperately needed.
Solutions
Embracing the challenges, we embarked on a transformative journey to rejuvenate the website. Our first order of business was to rebuild the foundation with a more thoughtful, streamlined design principle. Understanding the importance of speed in user experience, we incorporated plugins specifically designed to clear cache efficiently. Additionally, we recognized the bottleneck caused by older image formats. By transitioning to next-generation image formats, we were able to significantly boost the site’s loading speed. However, our crowning achievement was the revamped mobile layout. With a renewed focus on readability and usability, we meticulously adjusted and optimized every element to ensure mobile users received the seamless experience they deserved.
